Lisa K. Friedman graduated with a degree in American Literature
from The George Washington University and went to work on Capitol
Hill where s
he was quickly fined for using the ‘Senator’s Only’ elevator.
In 1985 she began writing human interest features for San Jose Mercury
News. Her work appeared in The View and Northern California Jewish Bulletin.
She was a contributing editor to San Francisco Focus Magazine writing monthly
articles on Health and Medicine. She is the author of Capital Baby,
a resource book that spawned a monthly column in Washington Parent
Magazine; and Nothing to Lose, a mainstream suspense novel. She
has eight non-fiction titles with Ariel Books.
In October, 2004, Ms. Friedman was named Humor Writer of the Month by the prestigious Erma Bombeck Writing Center which did more for her ego than all of the credentials above.
Lisa K. Friedman received a Master of Writing degree from the Johns Hopkins University in 2008. She keeps her diplomas over her washing machine, Hershey’s chocolate in her glove compartment, and is widely known for eating ice cream out of the container with a fork.
